Your Sewer

Soos Creek Water & Sewer District is responsible for over 520 miles of sewer main and over 34,000 sewer connections. SCWSD transports wastewater, via its sewer mains, to King County's South Treatment plant in Renton for treatment and disposal.

A sewer connection includes the sewer "stub", a short pipe from the sewer main to the customer's property line, and the "side sewer", the pipe from the stub to the customer's building. Maintenance of the sewer main and each stub is the responsibility of Soos Creek. Maintenance of the side sewer is the responsibility of the customer.

If you are experiencing an issue with your side sewer or have wastewater backing up into your home, please give Soos Creek Customer Service a call before hiring a plumber or side sewer contractor. Soos Creek can inspect your line and determine if the issue is on Soos Creek's or the Customer's side.

Side sewer repairs require obtaining a Repair Permit from Soos Creek. A drawing of your side sewer is available upon request and provided with every repair permit. Soos Creek recommends customers obtain quotes from multiple licensed side sewer contractors and call 811 for utility locates before beginning repairs.

In the event gravity sewer service is not obtainable, Soos Creek may allow the installation of an E/One Grinder Pump on a case-by-case basis. View the Grinder Pumps page for more information.
